一、課程說明(Course Description)
This course is designed to introduce various types of nanomaterials including nanoparticles, nanowires, carbon nanotubes, mesoporous silica materials, and other selected topics such as organic nanostructures. Synthesis of nanomaterials and typical structure and property characterization methods will be introduced. Patterning strategies for the fabricaton of ordered nanostructures will also be examined. The course is designed to give a broad overview of the current research in nanomaterials from a chemist's point of view.
二、指定用書(Text Books)
There is no required textbook for this course, but extensive reading of literature articles such as those in the ACS journals is highly recommended. The source of teaching materials will be mainly from literature reports. You also need to read extensively on selected topics of your interest to prepare the two reports to be submitted.

There will be one exam near the end of the semester. You also need to submit two reports. Class attendance may be considered.
