<br>This course aims to encourage students to read broadly in English, learn to have fun, and develop a habit of reading for life. Three types of medical science books will be discussed: (1) Biographies of great bio-scientists and physicians. (2) Writings by notable scientists and physicians. (3) Science
<br>fiction or medical thrillers.

<br>In the first half of the semester, we will read and discuss several short medical science essays.
<br>
<br>Each student will need to read a science fiction and give an oral presentation describing how he or she thinks about the book in the second half of the semester. A one-page term paper about the book will need to be submittedat the end of the semester.

<br>50% oral presentation; 30% discussion; 20% term paper.
