一、課程說明(Course Description)

免疫系統是一高度多樣化之防禦系統藉以清除致病性微生物及癌細胞。在這防禦系統中,各類特定功能的細胞與分子密切合作形成一動態的網絡,其複雜的程度不下於神經系統。近幾年,由於免疫學上多項突破性發現,使得這門科學漸趨成熟,而與神經科學並列為二十一世紀之顯學。無庸至疑地,免疫學是一不可缺少的生命科學課程。

本課程歡迎對免疫學有興趣但基礎較薄弱的大學部及研究生修習。亦至誠歡迎非生科系院同學選修。課程內容包括探討基本的免疫學現象及機制,簡言之,即是分子辨識(Molecular recognition) 與反應 (Response);及免疫學在生物醫學、生物材料及產業的應用上最新的進展,如生物感應器(biosensors)、人工器官(artificial lymphoid organs)和免疫療法(immunotherapy)等。
