課程大綱 (Course Description):
Prevalence of neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and
Alzheimer’s disease are closely associated with aging. However, we know very
little about the mechanisms underline neural degeneration. The Special Topics
on Mitochondria, Senescence and Neurodegeneration is designed to bring the
latest research related to aging and neuron degeneration to students. The
course will focus on discussing the cause-and effect of the cellular
senescence models and aging individuals. In addition, the aging effects on the
pathological progression of neurodegenerative disorders will be emphasized.
The goal of the course is not only to introduce the important health issue of
senescence and neurodegeneration to the students, but also to provide logic
training via discussion.
