一、課程說明(Course Description)

This course is to introduce basic understanding of solid state physics to
students. Solid state physics involves a combination of quantum mechanics
(QM) and statistical mechanics (SM), where the primary forces are
electrodynamic. Therefore, knowledges in QM, SM and electrodynamics are
essential for this course. The topics of this semester include:
- Crystal structure and binding
- Lattice vibrations
- Electron energy bands
- metals and semiconductors
