一、課程說明(Course Description)

This course is divided into 2 semesters, including the basic optics (I) and surface plasmonics (II) of inorganic materials. Semester One introduces fundamental optics of inorganic materials with an emphasis on the underlying mechanisms that make optical materials what they are and that determine how they behave. Topics include Wave propagation, Optical properties of conductors, and Optical properties of insulators-fundamentals and applications.

本門課將分為上下學期教授,涵蓋無機材料的基礎光學性質(上學期)以及表面電漿(下學期),並著重介紹無機材料在生醫工程及奈米光電之應用。在上學期的課程中,將以良好光學基礎為主軸,引導學生從邏輯思考進而瞭解材料光學原理,同時增強學生應有的實驗理論,包含基礎電磁波理論、金屬材料之光學性質、非金屬材料之光學性質,並進行其在國際間尖端應用之介紹。
