1) Introduction to techniques for surface analysis

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), low energy electron diffraction

(LEED), scanning probe microscopy (SPM)



2) X-ray diffraction (XRD)

Principles of X-ray crystallography, powder X-ray diffraction



3) X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS)

Principles of X-ray absorption spectroscopy, experimental methods and data analysis



4) Gas physisorption analysis

Fundamentals of physisorption, BET method, BJH method, t-plot analysis



5) Electron microscopies and related analytical techniques

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray

spectrometry (EDS), electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS)
