一、課程說明
This course aims to teach the working principles and applications in advanced
manufacturing technology.
The course is mainly divided into two parts, thermofluids for advanced
manufacturing and industrial laser machining.
In the first part of the course, an introduction and review to the physics of
thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer will be provided to build
the background on these subjects. To illustrate their applications in advanced
manufacturing technologies, three specific topics encompassing manufacturing
systems to manufacturing processes will be discussed: optimal design of
semiconductor manufacturing systems, active thermal management for high
precision machining center, and low temperature laser microfabrication
processes.
In the second part of the course, the course will start from introducing
miscellaneous applications of industrial machining with various types of
lasers which are different in wavelengths, pulse duration, and pulse energies.
The underlying physics phenomena in the process of laser machining will then
be studied. The simulation tools for simulating the multi-physics processes
will be introduced as well.
