● 課程說明(Course Desc<x>ription)
<br>This course is designed for undergraduate students, aiming to introduce 
<br>fundamental principles and practices of English language assessment. The course 
<br>covers important concepts of language assessment, such as (1) types of language 
<br>assessment; (2) the adoption/ adaptation of language assessment; (3) the 
<br>development of language assessment; and (4) the presentation of language-
<br>assessment results. Students are expected to apply these concepts to design 
<br>appropriate assessment tasks and to evaluate different aspects of English 
<br>learners’ language skills. On completion of the course, students will 
<br>develop/gain: 
<br>■ an awareness of various approaches to language assessment and current issues in 
<br>this field,
<br>■ an ability to evaluate particular testing or assessment procedures,
<br>■ experience in designing a small-scale test or assessment procedure, and
<br>■ skills in using a spreadsheet program to use its calculation functions, graphing 
<br>tools, and programming for presenting assessment results.
