Course Description:
Advanced Developmental Psychology provides a discussion of the fundamental
theoretical framework of developmental psychology. Throughout the semester,
different topics in developmental psychology, including developmental theories,
biological foundations (i.e. heredity, neural development), cognitive development
(i.e. perception, executive function, social cognition), and socioemotional
development (i.e. emotions, social interactions) will be introduced and discussed
in depth. This course aims to provide students with an advanced level of
competence with the theoretical aspects of developmental science and practical
knowledge with critically reading and evaluating research papers in this field.

Textbook:
Journal articles and book chapters will be assigned for each week.

Teaching Method:
The course will involve both lectures and article discussions. Students are
expected to complete the article readings and to come to class prepared to discuss
the articles together.
