一、課程說明(Course Description)
宇宙空間是浩瀚而空曠的。在銀河系裡大部分的空間充滿的不是星星,也不是中子星或黑洞,
而是星際物質。常見炫麗的天文影像往往是星際物質的各種表象。了解星際物質中的物理過
程,等於掌握了天文物理的重要知識。

- Contents of ISM: Hot gas in supernova remnants and superbubbles, Warm ionized
gas
in HII regions, Diffuse warm ionized Medium, Warm atomic gas, Cold atomic gas,
Cold
molecular gas, Dust grains, Magnetic fields, and Cosmic rays.
- Global models of the ISM: heating and cooling, thermal equilibrium, two-phase
and
three-phase ISM models.
- Hydrodynamics and Magnetohydrodynamics: conservation laws, fluid instabilities,
turbulence, waves, and shocks.
