一、課程說明(Course Description)
Materials science investigates the microstructure of materials and their
physical, chemical and mechanical properties. This course is divided into three
parts: (1) Microstructure of materials, atomic bonding and coordination, atomic
arrangement in crystals and crystal defects (especially the theory of vacancies
and dislocations). (2) Thermodynamics and kinetics of materials Science: phase
diagrams, solid diffusion and heat treatment, which are the basis for
controlling and changing the microstructure of materials. (3) Properties of
materials: discussing the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of
metals, ceramics, composite materials, and semiconductors.
