Course Description:

An introduction to fundamental observational techniques of astronomy. This
course
contains 3
parts:

I. Lectures: lecture topics includes basic knowledge and terminology of
astronomical
observations and optical telescopes

II. Observation sections: students are required to use small optical telescopes to
perform several
observation assignments during classes.

III. Presentation: each student is required to give an oral presentation on recent
discovery in
astronomy or modern instruments and telescopes


Grade:

Homework: 40%
Final Project: 60%
