The first part of Introduction to Solid State Physics taught:
- brief introduction into the atomic model
- local forces
and in the Born-Oppenheimer approximation of separating the electronic system
from the motion of atoms:
- the atomic lattice (crystal structures, methods to measure, crystal vibrations,
and thermodynamic properties)
- the electronic system (in the single electron approximation, free electron
model, the nearly free electron model and the tight binding model - and the
relevant methods to measure them)

課程說明(Course Description)

The second part of Introduction to Solid State Physics will go beyond the single
electron model and cover aspects of multi electron interaction and the
interaction between electrons and the atomic system.
- Magnetism
- Superconductivity
- Transport (is sufficient time available)
- Semiconductors
